Born in Dublin, Leo Clancy studied life drawing at the National College of Art under Maurice McGonigal R.H.A.. He also studied Portrait painting under George Collie R.HA..

Leo has had successful one-man shows in many Dublin Art Gallerys and has also exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Oireachtais Art exhibition and various group shows throughout Dublin and Kildare. He received three merit awards and third place in the drawing section in the C.D.L National Art Competition.

His work encompasses painting from life, portraiture, still life and landscapes. He has a great affinity with the Irish landscape and the complex variations it presents. His works are in private collections in Ireland, the U.K, America and Germany.
